Santa Rosa is a town and district located in the Misiones department in Paraguay. It is one of the most important cities of the influence Jesuit.

Geography

Santa Rosa is located 257 kilometers south of Asunción on Route I "Mariscal Francisco Solano Lopez". It is located on a hill.

History

City founded in 1698 by Jesuit Priest Ranzonier, there lived families coming from the city of Santa Maria de Fe. Here people visit one of the most important Jesuit Reductions.

The original church was burned in 1883 by what was built another temple, only managed to preserve the bell, which to this day is in use.

Santa Rosa is an agricultural area, with large cattle ranches.
